GunZ: The Duel Wiki — K-Style Combat, Guides & PvP Tips

K-Style is the Korean high-skill movement-and-combat meta that made the original GunZ legendary. It combines wall-running, dash combos, mid-air jumps and seamless sword-and-gun switching so players move acrobatically while fighting. In GunZ: The Duel the technique set is preserved and tuned for the remaster, and while mastery takes practice, the training room lets you build muscle memory for wall runs, dash-dash jumps and air combat before you take it into duels.

GunZ: The Duel is free to play on Steam. Search for GunZ: The Duel on the Steam store, click install, and launch the game. After creating your mercenary you can enter the training room to learn the basics. The game requires Windows 10 or newer with a DirectX 9.0c compatible GPU. If you hit the first-day cannot-connect issue, creating a Documents\Gunz folder and restarting the client was the official workaround while the servers were expanding.

XP (experience points) levels up your account and is earned by playing matches and completing quests. BT is the in-game shop currency used to buy permanent customization parts and weapon components in the store. Both are earned through normal play, and the game runs periodic XP & BT UP events that increase earn rates for a limited time. There is no equipment gate — customization is cosmetic and permanent, so progress never locks you out of combat.

Both modes share the same K-Style combat, so you can mix them freely. PvP modes like Duel and Team Deathmatch are where you refine your movement and test your skills against real opponents, while co-op PvE quests and boss fights are a more relaxed way to farm XP and BT with allies. Most players warm up in PvE or the training room, then take their new techniques into ranked duels and clan wars.

For brand new players, a melee blade paired with a revolver is the most forgiving K-Style loadout. The blade is your bread-and-butter for sword combat and close-range pressure, while the revolver lets you add mid-air gunfire between combos without managing automatic fire. As you get comfortable with wall-running and dash-dash jumps, you can experiment with SMGs for sustained pressure or shotguns for burst damage.

Minimum requirements are Windows 10, a dual-core Intel i5 or better at 2GHz, 4GB of RAM and a GTX 960 or R7 370 GPU with DirectX 9.0c. Recommended hardware is Windows 10 or 11, an i7 at 2.6GHz, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 or RX 580. The game uses Easy Anti-Cheat, so you need an internet connection for online play and should keep the client updated for stability fixes.

Yes. You can queue into Duel and other PvP modes solo, and you can enter co-op PvE quests with a party or join other players. Practicing K-Style in the training room solo is the fastest way to improve, and many players use solo training before stepping into ranked play. The game does not require a fixed team, so solo players can enjoy the full experience, though Clan Wars and the Hall of Fame are naturally team-oriented.

GunZ: The Duel launched with several live events. The Launch Event lets you exchange currency earned through gameplay for rewards on the event tab (running 14/Aug - 6/Oct). Welcome Reward and the 200K Wishlist Reward are delivered to your mailbox on first character creation (13/Aug - 6/Oct).
